The Order of Dracul

The Order of Dracul

“His body may be dust—but his dominion endures.”

Overview

The Order of Dracul is an ancient, secretive coven composed solely of vampires directly sired (or descended in bloodline) from Count Vlad Dracula Tepes.

Though Dracula himself was famously destroyed in 1893—dust scattered to the Carpathian winds—his progeny survived, adapting their master’s philosophy into a cult of influence, occultism, and vengeance.

Where other vampire clans thrive on chaos or excess, the Order of Dracul is a patient, organized force, viewing themselves as the rightful aristocracy of the undead. They are scholars of the supernatural, manipulators of human institutions, and zealots in preserving their bloodline’s supremacy.

 Origin & History

15th Century:

  • Dracula’s transformation into the first of his lineage.

  • A handful of trusted lieutenants—his “Blood Council”—share in the first generation of the curse.

16th–19th Centuries:

  • The Order’s roots spread through Transylvania and the Ottoman territories, using trade caravans and occult pacts to plant influence.

  • Rumors surface of the “Crimson Concordat,” a document recording Dracula’s arcane knowledge and prophecies.

1893:

  • The Van Helsing Conclave destroys Dracula’s body, scattering his ashes.

  • Most believe the lineage is ended.

  • In secret, the surviving Blood Council swear an Oath of Perpetuity:
“His dust is the seed of our dominion.”

20th Century–Present:

  • The Order reconstitutes, infiltrating aristocratic societies, criminal syndicates, and occult circles.

  • By the modern era, they have become one of the most formidable and clandestine vampire cabals in Europe.

 Doctrine & Purpose

The Order believes Dracula was not merely a powerful vampire but a chosen herald of a coming age of shadows.

Their mission:

  • Preserve and exalt Dracula’s legacy.

  • Unite all lesser covens under their bloodline.

  • Recover the scattered remains of Dracula for an eventual resurrection.

Some sects also believe in a prophecy called The Crimson Concordat—a revelation foretelling Dracula’s return when “the Red Moon rises thrice.”

 Structure

The Order operates like a secret aristocracy:

The Crimson Court

  • 7 elders known as Voivodes, each the progeny of Dracula’s first generation.

  • They meet only rarely, usually via astral projection.

The Blooded

  • Full members who can trace their lineage directly to Dracula.

  • Sworn by rites of blood and fire.

Thralls

  • Human servants bound by vampiric blood pacts.

  • Serve as enforcers, researchers, or spies.

Acolytes

  • Newly turned vampires, tested before full initiation.

 Traditions and Rituals

  • The Red Communion:
Once each decade, all known descendants gather to drink from a chalice said to contain droplets of Dracula’s original blood.

  • The Night of Dust:
The anniversary of Dracula’s destruction—observed with fasting, ritual lamentations, and oaths of vengeance.

  • Blood Letters:
Cryptic missives written in blood, used to coordinate global activities.

 Symbols & Iconography

  • Sigil:
A black dragon rampant on a red field—an echo of Dracula’s Wallachian crest.

  • Motto:
    Sanguis Imperat (Blood Commands).

  • Tokens:
Members often wear a ruby signet ring engraved with a stylized “D.”

 Methods & Influence

Unlike feral vampire packs, the Order is methodical:

  • Corporate Holdings:
Front companies for money laundering and influence (pharmaceutical firms, shipping, security contractors).

  • Political Blackmail:
Extortion of politicians and clergy to maintain secrecy.

  • Occult Research:
    Ritual archives predating the Renaissance.

  • Recruitment:
Promising candidates are seduced, tested, and turned only if worthy.

 Relationship to Other Factions

Vatican Knights:

  • Considered an Eschaton-Level Threat.

  • Dozens of covert operations have targeted the Order—most ending in partial success at best.

Red Hood Society:

  • No formal enmity—Red Hoods focus on werewolves—but occasional clashes when goals conflict.

Independent Hunters:

  • Many have dedicated their lives to the Order’s eradication.

Other Vampire Covens:

  • Feared and respected—some covens offer tribute to avoid destruction.
